{"id":1974,"date":"2014-12-07T16:32:30","date_gmt":"2014-12-07T21:32:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/baburkard.com\/crochet\/?p=1974"},"modified":"2014-12-19T07:14:26","modified_gmt":"2014-12-19T12:14:26","slug":"december-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/baburkard.com\/crochet\/december-7\/","title":{"rendered":"December 7 Second Sunday of Advent"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Mark 1: 1-8<\/h3>\n<p>The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God, as it is written in Isaiah the prophet:<br \/>\n\u201cI will send my messenger ahead of you,<br \/>\nwho will prepare your way\u201d\u2014<br \/>\n\u201ca voice of one calling in the wilderness,?\u2018Prepare the way for the Lord,<br \/>\nmake straight paths for him.\u2019\u201d<br \/>\nAnd so John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. John wore clothing made of camel\u2019s hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. And this was his message: \u201cAfter me comes the one more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.
