Luke 1:67-79<\/h3>\n

His father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied:<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

\u201cPraise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>because he has come to his people and redeemed them.<\/span><\/span>
\nHe has raised up a horn of salvation for us<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>in the house of his servant David<\/span><\/span>
\n(as he said through his holy prophets of long ago),<\/span>
\nsalvation from our enemies<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and from the hand of all who hate us\u2014<\/span><\/span>
\nto show mercy to our ancestors<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and to remember his holy covenant,<\/span><\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>the oath he swore to our father Abraham:<\/span><\/span>
\nto rescue us from the hand of our enemies,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and to enable us to serve him without fear<\/span><\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High;<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him,<\/span><\/span>
\nto give his people the knowledge of salvation<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>through the forgiveness of their sins,<\/span><\/span>
\nbecause of the tender mercy of our God,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven<\/span><\/span>
\nto shine on those living in darkness<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>and in the shadow of death,<\/span><\/span>
