{"id":2150,"date":"2015-02-21T08:27:02","date_gmt":"2015-02-21T13:27:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/baburkard.com\/crochet\/?p=2150"},"modified":"2015-02-21T09:45:04","modified_gmt":"2015-02-21T14:45:04","slug":"prayer-beads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/baburkard.com\/crochet\/prayer-beads\/","title":{"rendered":"Prayer Beads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wonder what my Amish grandparents would think of my Catholic ways?<\/p>\n<p>For several years now I have listened to the Jesuits&#8217; <a href=\"http:\/\/pray-as-you-go.org\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pray-as-you-go podcasts<\/a> on a daily basis, usually part of my bedtime routine. As well, I have started reading through the Carmelite&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ocarm.org\/en\/lectio-divina\" target=\"_blank\">Lectio Divina<\/a> every morning with my first cup of coffee.<\/p>\n<p>Growing up I never heard of &#8220;Seasons of the Church,&#8221; or Advent or Lent, yet now they are celebrated in our worship.<\/p>\n<p>This week I decided to make a set of &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kingofpeace.org\/prayerbeads.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Anglican Prayer Beads<\/a>&#8221; (what&#8217;s the difference between a rosary and Anglican Prayer beads, I wonder). I&#8217;m not sure I will follow any formulaic pattern for my prayers &#8212; that just isn&#8217;t how I have talked with God all my life.
