Work in progress

I can’t have just one thing in progress at a time – that would be boring,

Things I’m working on – http://www.crochettoday.com/crochet-patterns/wrap-re-make using Patons Fresco in a buttery yellow (hook size 6mm);

http://www.crochettoday.com/crochet-patterns/runaway-menagerie-mama-baby-panda – I’ve started the Panda, using #10 crochet cotton (so it will be miniature) in off-white and black, of course, using 150 mm hook. My eyes certainly are what they once were; I’m finding it harder to do this fine stuff than I used to.

I made http://www.crochettoday.com/crochet-patterns/blooming-sun-hat using Bernat Handicrafter Cotton (4 ply worsted weight). It is a little big but perhaps if I wash it in hot water and dry it in the hot dryer it will shrink some.

I ran out of the pink yarn for the watermelon sweater, so it is on hold for the moment.

Watermelons and Lattice

Marjorie and I drove to Paris this morning to visit Mary Maxim’s. Our biggest purchases were magazines. Some wonderful patterns!

New Mini Wrap Sweater
I have started a new “Mini Wrap Sweater” for my favourite baby, this time in a larger size. I chose to make it green and pink – a little watermelon. The yarn is Caron Simply Soft Brites, using hook 4.5 mm — I’m switching to a 5.5 hook.

In the newest Crochet Today! (May/June 2010) magazine is a “Lattice & Swirls Top.” I think I will use the thread I originally bought for Mina’s dress to make this top. Thread is Nazli Gelin’s Garden; hook is 3.5mm.
